The Equipment of finswimmer |

Finswimmers use two main types of equipment. There are the snorkel and the monofin. During the training swimmers use also rubber fins. Because some disciplines are underwater, swimmers use tanks with compressed air too.

Snorkel The Snorkel is plastic tube molded into appropriate shape using for breathing of swimmer. The internal diameter is from 19 mm to 23 mm with lenght maximally 480 mm. The snorkel is mounted on a brace that secures the snorkel over the nose and forehead of the finswimmer. |

Monofin Monofin is main locomotion part of finswimmer. It consists from large fibber glass blade and rubber foot pockets attached for securing the feet to the monofin. There are a number of fin manufactures, all using various techniques and materials. Monofins can have different shapes too. Production of monofin is very demanding. The best producers are Russian trainers and ex - competitors. |
